RAMAIGO will share a graphic design drawing and PR / AE video editing post-production professional computer installation guide for you. What kind of hardware does this type of design focus on? What hardware can improve work efficiency? Let ’s take a look today, hoping to help more people in doubt and in need. The reason why graphic design drawing and PR / AE video clips are put together is because the general configuration directions of the two are still the same.

A. Computer hardware focus

Graphic design hardware importance order: (CPU> memory> hard disk> graphics card)

Video clip hardware importance order: (CPU> memory> hard disk> graphics card)

1. CPU

Rendering usually consumes multiple CPU core threads! For video clips, PR mainly relies on CPU multi-core, multi-core is very helpful for the final rendering input, because the rendering output part has a lot of repeated calculations, so, the more the number of CPU cores and threads, then just Will significantly improve work efficiency. At present, personally suggest that the quad-core or more, 6-8 core CPU is the most cost-effective. In terms of AE effects, AE is more dependent on CPU single-core performance, which is the so-called high CPU frequency. The CPU frequency is preferably above 2.6Ghz, and the core frequency (maximum frequency) is preferably above 4.0Ghz.

The professional graphic design also has low requirements for the computer host. The CPU must be multi-core and multi-threaded. It is recommended to have more than four cores. At the same time, the main frequency of the CPU should be as high as possible. Some people often say that PS and Ai do not have high requirements for hardware configuration, and the more general configuration can run smoothly. That ’s right, it is indeed the case. Every day, the pictures are hundreds of K or dozens of M, right Computer configuration requirements are not harsh. But if you are a large picture for commercial or printing purposes, or PS operation of many picture stacks, then the computer configuration requirements are still relatively high. PS daily retouching is basically CPU-consuming single-core performance, such as filters, cutouts, manipulation deformation, content recognition, copy stamps, brush jitter and other operations. And some are core, such as stacking of multiple layers, panoramic stitching of multiple pictures and processing high-definition images above 6K, saving 4K-sized pictures, etc. It is usually recommended that 4-8 cores are enough, more than This core basically has little room for PS improvement.

2. Memory RAM

Note that memory is very critical. Both graphic design and video editing, both consume more memory. The role of memory is mainly used to temporarily store the massive data generated by CPU operations. If the memory capacity is small, even the best CPU can not play Powerful performance, so it is recommended to start with 16G memory, memory is king, especially for video editing purposes, and 32GB or even 64GB is necessary.

3. Hard disk

The hard drive is very helpful. Whether it is 2D graphic design or video editing, it is recommended to choose the solid state drive because the reading and writing speed is much faster than the mechanical hard drive. It is best to use the M.2 NVMe protocol high-performance solid state drive and install the software on Solid state drive, photos, video materials are placed in the solid state drive. Because the solid state can not only improve the fluency of the software, the most important thing is that the speed of importing and exporting videos and pictures is greatly improved, and the files cannot be felt. Once the imported files are too large, you will appreciate the importance of hard disk speed.

4. Graphics card

In fact, video editing is not very demanding on the graphics card. In fact, for AE / PR post-production, it is necessary to pay more attention to CPU and memory. After the graphics card reaches the GTX 1060 level, the gap between independent graphics cards with high performance is not too obvious, even Which one of your high-end graphics cards will not differ too much, CUDA acceleration is better compatible with N card than A card, so personally suggest to choose N card, and can avoid the error prompt when the mercury acceleration is turned on.

In addition, NVIDIA said that it uses RTX20 graphics cards, and has specially optimized the creation tools for video clips, and has launched a special Creator Ready Driver. However, AMD also said that its own Radeon VII is also optimized for creative applications, but AMD ’s OpenCL acceleration efficiency is in PR is not as good as NVIDIA's CUDA.

For graphic design, the graphics card requirements are not high. Said the white point, the nuclear display can be satisfied. If the CPU does not have a nuclear display, it is enough to have an entry-level independent display. There is no need for a high-priced professional card because the main focus is on 3D design, but Graphic design belongs to 2D design.

Maybe through the above study, there will be a general direction, but in order to let everyone get better guidance, I will write some general configuration plans below. If you are interested, you can refer to it.

B. The computer configuration recommended

1. Graphic design

Entry-level solution: Intel Core i3-9100F processor + B360 motherboard (or B365 motherboard) + 8G DDR4 2400 memory + 256GB solid state drive (starting) + GT1030 alone;

Mainstream plan: Intel Core i5-9400F processor + B360 motherboard (or B365 motherboard) + 16G DDR4 2666 memory + 256GB solid state drive (starting) + GT1030 alone;

High-end solution: Intel Core i7-9700F processor + B360 motherboard (or B365 motherboard) + 16G DDR4 2666 memory + 256GB solid state drive (starting) + GT1030 alone;

If the CPU has a built-in core display, it may not be equipped with a discrete graphics card.

2. Video editing

Mainstream plan:

AMD R7 2600X processor + B450 motherboard + DDR4 16GB 2666 memory + 256GB solid state drive (starting) + GT1650S graphics card;

Intel Core i5-9400F processor + B360 motherboard (or B365 motherboard) + 16G DDR4 2666 memory + 256GB solid state drive (starting) + GT1650S alone;

AMD R5 3600 (or R5 3600X) processor + B450 motherboard + DDR4 16GB memory 3000 + 256GB solid state drive (starting) + RTX2060 graphics card;

High-end solution:

Intel Core i7-9700F processor + B360 motherboard (or B365 motherboard) + 32G DDR4 2666 memory + 256GB solid state drive (starting) + RTX2060S alone;

Intel Core i7-9700KF processor + Z390 motherboard + 32G DDR4 memory (frequency from 3000) + 256GB solid state drive (starting) + RTX2060S alone;

Intel Core i9-9900KF processor + Z390 motherboard + 32G DDR4 memory (frequency from 3000) + 256GB solid state drive (starting) + RTX2070S alone;

Note: In the installation plan, such as memory, some people may have very high requirements. You can add memory as needed. 240G-256G solid-state drives are just a starting proposal. If the demand is higher, you can change to a larger one. You can also use the solid-state + mechanical dual hard drive solution The M.2 NVME protocol is preferred, with better read and write performance. For the Intel platform, having a nuclear display is better.

About the host is basically here, let's talk about the monitor again.
